# Use Reynforce in Claude

**Add your workspace's address to Claude as a custom connector and sign in with
your work account.** Claude can then search your register before it answers,
and it asks you before every change that puts your name on a line.

> **Not working yet.** On 20 October 2026 Claude could not sign in to a
> workspace and answered *"Couldn't register with reynforce's sign-in
> service"*. We found why and the fix is waiting to go out. This page will say
> so when it has been tried end to end.

## What you need first

- **A Reynforce workspace**, and to be a member of it. Your workspace's address
is on your workspace's **Settings** page, under *Use it from Claude*. It looks like
  `https://app.reynforce.com/t/<your workspace>/mcp`.
- **A Claude plan that can add a custom connector.** Claude's own page says the
Free, Pro, Max, Team and Enterprise plans can. On Free you can add one.
- **On a Team or Enterprise plan, an Owner adds it** for the organisation, and
you then connect with your own account.

## Add it: Free, Pro or Max

1. In Claude, go to **Customize > Connectors**.
2. Click **Add custom connector**.
3. Paste your workspace's address into the server URL.
4. Leave the OAuth fields empty. Reynforce does not need a client ID.
5. Click **Add**.
6. Click **Connect**. A Reynforce sign-in page opens. Sign in with your work
account, the one your workspace knows.

You are back in Claude, and the connector shows as connected.

## Add it: Team or Enterprise

1. An Owner goes to **Organization settings > Connectors**, selects **Add**,
then **Custom**, and chooses **Web** if asked.
2. They paste the workspace's address, leave the OAuth fields empty, and click
   **Add**.
3. Each member goes to **Customize > Connectors**, finds Reynforce with the
**Custom** label, and clicks **Connect** to sign in.

## Use it in a chat

Click **+** in the chat, choose **Connectors**, and turn Reynforce on for that
conversation. Then ask in plain words:

- *"Search the register for what we say about SSO."*
- *"Check whether I can offer this customer 15% off before I reply."*
- *"Show me the lines I own that are overdue for a check."*

## What each tool does, and when Claude asks you first

Claude asks before a tool that changes something a person relies on. Reading
never asks.

| What you see in Claude | What it does | Does Claude ask first? |
|---|---|---|
| Search the register | Finds lines your company stands behind, each with its owner, its last check and whether it may be used | No. It only reads |
| Check an action against the mandate | Asks whether an action is allowed, and writes the check down | No prompt every time. It adds a record and changes nothing else |
| Propose claims | Turns a document into proposed lines. They stay proposals until a person accepts each one | No prompt every time. A proposal changes nothing anyone relies on |
| Set a claim's owner | Names who stands behind a line | **Yes, every time** |
| Accept one claim | Accepts a single proposed line | **Yes, every time** |
| Confirm a claim is still true | Marks a line as checked today | **Yes, every time** |
| Contest a claim | Says a line is wrong, so no agent may use it until it is settled | **Yes, every time** |

**The last four ask every time on purpose.** Each one puts your name on a line,
and a name added to forty lines in one click means nothing.

If Claude offers **Always allow**, think before you click it for those four.
You can also block a tool under **Customize > Connectors**: select Reynforce and
set that tool to **Blocked**.

## If it does not work

| What you see | What it means | What to do |
|---|---|---|
| *"Couldn't register with reynforce's sign-in service"* | Claude could not find our sign-in. This is ours, not yours | Tell us at support@reynforce.com. Nothing you change will fix it |
| You sign in, and then Claude reports an error or shows no Reynforce tools | Most often, the account you signed in with is not a member of this workspace | Check you used your work account. If you did, ask whoever runs your workspace to add you, then reconnect |
| *"Couldn't reach the MCP server"* | The address is wrong, or has a typo | Copy it again from your Settings page. It ends in `/mcp` |
| A tool answers that a line is unusable | The line is overdue, has no owner, or is contested | Not an error. Tell the buyer you are checking, and ask the owner |

**To change how it signs in**, remove the connector and add it again. Claude
does not let you edit sign-in settings after adding one.

## What Claude sends us

Only what each tool needs: your search words, the action you describe, and the
line you act on. Not your conversation. The check records the action, and the
sentence a promise was made in, capped at 1,000 characters.
[What we hold](trust.html) has the full account.

Claude's own steps are from its page
[*Add a connector that isn't in the directory*](https://claude.com/docs/connectors/custom/add-unlisted),
read on 20 October 2026. If a label in Claude has changed, that page is the one
to trust.
