# Reynforce and the guardrail, observability and gateway tools

**Guardrail, tracing and gateway tools check how an AI agent behaves.

The first four are about the agent. Reynforce is about your company: what it
stands behind, and what has been promised in its name.

## What Reynforce does

1. **A list of what's true about your company.** Prices, discounts, plan
   details, certifications. Each line has a named owner and the date it was
   last checked.
2. **Rules for each agent.** What it may promise on its own, what needs a
   person first, and what it may never say.
3. **A record of every promise.** What was said, to whom, what it relied on,
   and whether it was allowed. Kept so nobody can edit it.

> say anything over 15% needs the deal desk. Reynforce tells the agent to ask
> first, and the request is on the record either way.

## Our view

**We think these tools stack rather than compete.** If you already run
guardrails and tracing, you're further along than most teams. Keep them.

What they don't have is a source of truth. A guardrail can tell you a
sentence is polite. It can't tell you the price in it is wrong, because
nothing tells it the right price. Tracing has the sentence word for word, but
not whether anyone was standing behind it at the time.
